Which is why i am building a 2.2 with some very responsive supporting mods which i am hoping will be well on the way to full boost by 4000 rpm....with a GT35r .82.

what i don't think you're understanding is that sure, you can build a quick car with a 207, but it isn't going to be good at much else except limiter launches and quick quarter mile times....and it will be running on the ragged edge with a low life expectancy. 207 bottom ends aren't that pricey, but the labour to replace/rebuild a bottom end every 10000kms isn't going to go down well with the wallet.
I was hoping the 207 would last a bit longer then 10,000kms with 290-300wkw, and wow u must have had a huge tdo6 coz i was hitting full boost at 4700rpm with a tdo6 and currently hitting max boost at 5000rpm with a gt3082r. I dont track race my car at all (just drag race it a bit) i just daily drive it and its very good at it at the moment and the 80 to 100kw it makes under the curve is more then enough for the 50km/h speed limit zones i drive around in (light gc8 )

A properly tuned 207 will last a long time. Your 5 speed should be smashing every shift according to the general logic going around here.

I wouldn't be worried about boost / power figures. Until a combo is on the dyno, you won't know the limitations. Tune for knock levels and worthwhile gains imo. No point running another 10psi through a turbo if it only gets you 5hp.

Agreed. Just because you have 300kw or whatever I dont believe you will be destroying the engine too quickly. Unless that 10kkms is all track k's.

I agree that the 207 is a magic engine but really you want bigger displacement for drag times. Track work however....
Im only aiming for a low 11 sec pass and maybe that high ten if im lucky enough and i know a 2.0 is good for that since its pretty much already a mid 11sec car with a bit more aggressive driving, but i do agree for a much faster time then yea bigger motor will be better but for a low 11 im hoping 2.0 will be enough.

Yea with 1.7 bar it only made about 3-5wkw more lol (stock heads ) so we left it at 1.7 bar max and timing has been set to 21 degrees max less then what they run factory.

Doesnt matter how strong a block is it will struggle to last more than 10,000ks if trying to run 10s the whole time.
