Hey Rich,
The guard liners were $60 each I think. I guess I did not need to buy new clips, as the majority are still in the old ones, but there are a few missing from the front, so I just ordered the whole lot. The price of those blew me away @ around $120. There is 45 of them though, not that really makes a difference.

You mentioned you got 376km to the tank. Just wondering if you have closed loop fuelling setup. If so are you using a wideband or the stock rear narrow-band sensor?

Hey bud, to be honest I do not really understand your question. Although I do not have a MAF anymore, and only run the rear O2 sensor, just behind the CAT.
So closed loop and only the rear narrow band? Hope this is right.

If you are interested in getting better fuel economy it might be worth investigating moving the sensor upstream of the cat, as AFR are usually leaner after the cat than before. What this means is that the sensor sees an AFR of 14.7 after the cat when cruising, but before the cat it might be 13-14, which means you are running rich and wasting fuel. I've seen this on my car with an AFR reading 12 at the exhaust tip after the cat on ASGs dyno, but my wideband at the outlet of the turbo before the cat consistently read a flat 11, even after being re-calibrated a few times. Also the stock ECU uses the front oxygen sensor in the headers before the cat to control fuelling in closed loop and the rear oxygen sensor is only used to check the efficiency of the cat and will bring up a CEL if something is not right, or if it has been removed. But if you are happy with it I wouldn't worry yourself too much about it. Just enjoy driving the car.

I will look into what you have mentioned, but I am happy with the amount of fuel I used. So far anyway. I am sure that if I start giving it some more WOT, I am obviously bound to use more fuel than the old set up. This test was more of a comparison in driving style, which was more like a, accelerate slowly, don't rev over 3500 - 4500 most of the time. But if I can save a little bit of money and care for the environment more, I am defiantly interested. Thanks for your very helpful information!! Simon Quote:
Just got back from cleaning the red stitching on my steering wheel and handbrake cable. I know this probably sounds a tad OCD, but I like to keep my stuff clean. Not that the inside or outside of the car is clean at all ATM. Stupid weather!! I purchased a 06 - 07 Sti gear knob off of Nauli, which had nice new bright red stitching, so after nearly 8 years, I am sure you can understand the amount of dirt, grease & oil in the red stitching on the steering wheel & handbrake, making it seem very dark. I read on another Subaru site of this fabric cleaner 303, for cleaning exactly the same stitching. So I got some and cleaned the stitching this morning. I used it at full strength, using ear cleaning cotton tips. Looks so much better, not quite as bright as the new gear knob, but 10 times better than what it was. I will give it a second clean in a week or so, just to try to get it a little cleaner. Attached some before & after photos for you & whoever else is interested.
