It will be interesting to see what these 'small port' heads do to the power curve.....Torque it up!

I also picked up a 5.5 Kg steel flywheel for it.

The heads have now been re-built with new guides, seats, my new BC springs & re-shimmed to suit the new cams.

The bottom end is now receiving a full balance, the entire rotating assembley is being done, including the flywheel, clutch & crank pulleys.

Due to be finished mid next week.

I am sadly $860 over budget..... Not too bad seeing as I had to outlay for a pair of heads!
Argh! I'm envious Ross. It appears that you're going to be well and truly finished before I even have a chance to crank mine over. Looking forward to skids.

The initial 500km/5000rpm/.8bar should be done next sunday/sunday night......

The motor should be ready Wednesday or Thursday Brent, but I thought you were back at work this week?

If I can get it home on Thursday, I have plans to do Thursday & Friday nights adding the manifolds, catch can system, head breather mod, turbo etc with the engine on the stand.

I expect to have it in the bay during Saturday morning & have it showing some signs of life Saturday arvo/evening.

All going well Sunday will be a driving day.

So you are doing the complete tune Rossco? Are you going to dyno it aswell? Or just road tune?

Yes Russ, I'll be doing the tune again.
The cruise (vacuum) area's won't need much tweaking but I expect the cams to affect the mid range significantly.

I'll run an AFR of 10.8:1 on boost (.8bar) for the first 1000Km.
Then 10.8:1 on 1 bar for another 1000km's.
Then cleaned up to run 11.7:1 @ 1.?? bar.

I'll road tune as I always do & probably a power run on a dyno after the complete run in (I want to see how far the VF29 can be pushed for interests sake).

Td05-20g going on after the initial 5000km.
