Makes sense Rossco, I was mainly talking about the block itself.
Looks pretty clean for 240k engine, regular oil changes and proper maintenance work wonders aye
Nice safety boots BTW

Seriously I reckon you could bottle hone it, fit new standard rings & bearings, slap it back together and get another 100k out of it...it is that clean inside!

Even the machining ridges in the pistons skirts as still intact & bar some polishing of the bores (on the thrust side) they would be good to go.

Mobil 1 for the WIN!

All the piston crowns have a light carbon crust, that shows that my 1.7 bar & 11.7-11.9 AFR tune was nice & safe (det tends to 'clean' the crowns of carbon), there are no signs of any cylinders leaning out either....I'm quite happy seeing as I was running my own tune.

P.s Brent's foot is well behind the engine stand & I even wear gloves to keep the oil off my skin these days...

I'd just like to post a big THANK YOU to Brent (SleepeR) & Gordon.

Thanks for your help over the last few days, much fun had in the SHED.

Tonight was spent boxing up the appropriate bits to pass on to the builder.......I'm back to where I should be now.... The time it takes to complete the project now will be in the hands of the builder as of next Tuesday.

I'll be stripping the intake manifold bare and be giving it a nice coat of the (out of production) RED VHT Wrinkle Plus thanks to Damo...Cheers mate!

Feels good to be getting somewhere.
