best bet is that u have not upgraded your fuel pump after putting on the tbe.. hence the fuel stock pump might have maxxed out his useful life. this was what happened to 1 of our gc8s here after putting only a cat-back exhaust and going WOT for quite awhile.
get a walbro 255 fuel pump, not that dear at about $150 and this will be sufficient for your future breathing mods.
And also if this one does not work, go get your brant check @ subaru

Seems to make sense. Car came with tbe when bought in '03 but have no idea what the previous owner has done for fuel mods, if any. Suspecting none. Previous owner was over 50 & it was his work daily between Mandurah & Rocky.

She was tilt trayed to Bunbury Subaru this morning, will find out in a coupla days what the story is. Only one tech on board there atm, the other 3 are doing courses - great time of the year for it!

Kudos to Rexy03 for info & pic re brant fuel relay solder repair.

Ok, just got my girl back...

Turns out it was a daughter loom connection under the carpet to do with the fuel pump. One of the pin connections had become so hot it oxidised and caused an intermittent open circuit. The connector housing had also started to melt.

Got quoted over $4200 for a new complete loom + extra for fitting hahaha...

Went for the slightly cheaper option of replacing loom connectors with generic, she has now returned home to daddy

Thanks for all the input people... your suggestions steered me away from my usual DIY stubbornness & probably saved me a sh!tload of ache!
